  • Travel

There are so many countries I wanna visit. so many things i wanna do.

Amidst the crazy workload i have, I cant help but anticipate graduation and the good few months to (hopefully) travel.

I caught Eat, Pray, Love a second time that day. True, it's a boring show. But I do admire her experience in Italy. Immersing herself in the culture, enjoying 'the pleasures of doing nothing', learning the Italian's hand gestures, etc.

I wanna travel.... where should i start?

  • Anger

    Anger

Too often we think of forgiveness as a gift to the other person when it clearly is for ourselves. so the next time you decide you cant forgive someone, ask yourself, is it really worth it?

it is true, pride will never want to admit that it is proud.

you may have to forgive numerous times a day and choose not to be offended. But the price we're paying to carry this burden, this negativity with us is much too high and we rip zero benefit from it. Staying angry at someone is like taking poison, hoping your enemy will die. So whats the sense in staying mad at somebody who's having a good time when he/she doesnt even know or care that you are upset.

do yourself a favour, let go of your pride, live a lifestyle of forgiving others and not be easily offended.

  • Rest

"God will only help those who help themselves"

Let the truth be told. No where in the entire bible will you find this quote. It was Benjamin Franklin who coined the phrase. I distinctively remember hearing this quotation when i was young. I truly believed it. When I grew in my walk with Christ, the truth did set me free.

Did I honestly think that my big and mighty God needed my small weak effort? God's ways are not like man. In fact, helping yourself is pride - it's self-effort, its believing in your own flesh, your own strength. How will I enjoy God's grace (unmerited, unearned, undeserved favour) if I truly believed in that?

On the contrary, God helps those who cannot help themselves. When we truly believe and realise that our own strength cant succeed. Our own flesh is bound to fail. We are able to trust God and let him take control. we are able to Let Go and Let God.

The bible says we should labour to enter the his rest (Hbr 4:11) Stop feeling like everything depends on you. God is supplying all the time . the only thing that hinders your supply is your worrying.

Your only responsibility is to guard your heart (Pro 4:23) & let it not be troubled. His yoke is easy & his burden is light.

Resting in Christ doesn't mean you don't do anything at all- its not inactivity. It means you are at peace, you are counting on him to guide you, youre letting him work through you, you're rejoicing in the finished work and and you know you're on victory ground because of Him. When you rest, its an act of faith. you're saying 'God youve finished everything. and if theres anything not finished, I'm resting so that you can finish it through me'.

Rest in the Lord! When you let go, God holds you!

Is it more safe that a mother holds her child or her child holds her? what if the child feels tired and lets go?

similarly, Let God hold you. Instead of your own strength trying to help God.

God wants to be your everything - your Alpha & Omega , your Jehovah Jireh (your provider), your healer.

  • Your Answer Is In His Word

    Proverbs 4:20–22
20My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. 21Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; 22for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.

  • Jesus delights in you drawing from Him

The Bible tells us that when Jesus arrived at Sychar, He was wearied from the journey and rested at a well. A sinful Samaritan woman then came to the well to draw water. Jesus ministered to her and she left rejoicing with the promise of living water. The disciples, having returned with food for Jesus, found Him already strengthened and refreshed. When they wondered who had given Him food while they were away, He told them, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.” (John 4:1–42)

Today, when you draw from Jesus and let Him minister to you, it is “food” for Him that “refreshes” and “strengthens” Him.

But it takes humility for us to allow Jesus to minister to us. We take pride in doing things for the Lord. We want to build our businesses, families and ministries for Him. All that is good, but without Jesus, we are spiritually bankrupt! We really have nothing to give to the Lord and His work. What we need to do first is to receive from Him because when we freely receive from Him, we are able to freely give. (Matthew 10:8)

My friend, Jesus wants to minister to you. Don’t try to minister to yourself. That is pride and self-righteousness. The Pharisees of Jesus’ day, who felt that they did not need Him and that they could provide for themselves, were the ones who could not receive from Him. So bring to Him your needs and say, “Lord, I need to draw from You. I present my needs to You. Minister to me and meet my needs. I cannot, but You can. Thank you, Lord.”

  • Unmerited Favour

Now Ive got every reason to rejoice

Your unmerited favour is on my life

It's got nothing to do with what i did

    But it's all about

    What you've done for me

    And because of the cross

    It's plain to see

I'm irrevocably saved, now I am free

    And I'll rejoice

    In everything You've done.
